NEW FRONT GATE
An
additional complement to the new International Orangutan Center are the
enhancements to the Zoo's front gate and entry plaza that were completed in spring
2012. They include new visitor and member entrances, ticket kiosks, an
expanded and beautifully renovated gift shop, an information station, and more.
A new picnic area offers tables with umbrellas for those warm summer days, and
the new light poles with their colorful banners brighten and enliven the
atmosphere visitors encounter when they walk through the new entrance marquee.
The future will bring satellite parking and shuttle services, plus additional
and upgraded food service facilities and restrooms – all projects that will
substantially improve the overall guest experience at the Zoo.
